BIO

Silvia Marcos was born in Mexico City. She lived in Israel during her teenage years and
later returned to her country of birth. This formative period abroad played a decisive role in
shaping her artistic and cultural vision. As the daughter of a painter, she developed an early
connection to the world of art.
Her interest in photography began through her work as a pedagogue and educator, where
she incorporated visual and digital tools into teaching. Over time, this practical use evolved
into a deep artistic passion.
She studied at the New York Institute of Photography and the Escuela Superior de
Fotografía, and holds a diploma in Media Production from the Colegio Americano de
Fotografía. She has also participated in specialized workshops in Mexico and the United
States.
Since 1991, her work has received national and international recognition and has been
exhibited in galleries and museums in Mexico City, Oaxaca, San Francisco, and Long
Island.
Now fully dedicated to photography, her work explores both spontaneous and carefully
composed scenes. She focuses especially on nature—landscapes, sunsets, flowers, and
plants—with a particular emphasis on macro photography, revealing intricate details often
unseen by the naked eye.
In addition to her natural subjects, she creates abstract compositions rich in color, texture,
movement, and form. Her process combines fieldwork in botanical gardens, parks, and
markets with studio exploration and digital editing.
Her work reflects a deep sensory and emotional connection with her subjects, resulting in
images that convey serenity, beauty, and contemplation. Through her photography, she
seeks to capture fleeting moments and transform them into lasting impressions.
“I seek to reveal the beauty that surrounds us and to convey moments of peace, happiness,
and love—creating images that feel like a gentle caress to the soul.”
